I do hope totally that I am wrong on this..BUT when you pull up fmcsa csa company snapshot.. This company is showing no common, contract or brokerage authority.. You may want to contact DOT and make sure.. This is what I got off the fmcsa web site. Just to make sure. Best of luck and enjoy Labor Day. Jeff

Dan I believe you are correct!!! I know a couple othe places to get sand from and the loads are getting REBROKERED and REBROKERED and that is illegal. Not to mention a couple trucking companies that do not have a broker authority are posting and moving loads it really pisses me off!!

careful with this posting...I talked to him Friday and he said he had no loads but strated asking me about what other brokers were giving for rates...not sure but I'm starting to get a bad feeling with this guy. Nothing firm but you don't ask about what other brokers are paying.

I see trucking companies almost every day that do not have a Broker authority giving loads to other companies.(ALOT)!! Example manufacturer is $48.00 ton, Broker is $40.00 ton, trucking companies taking all the broker loads and giving them to other trucking companies for $38.00 a ton. That is so illegal."

They are so busted..

They have a DOT number and show 4 trucks, so they are a private trucking company.. It shows on the FMSCA website that they have applied for some kind of an MC authority.. But none as of today. And from the postings here they are attempting to broker freight.. Can't do it unless it is all of their own as in being a shipper. So as of today.. Trucker beware.."

Wow.. I go out of town and things explode.. Yes we are a broker dealing directly with a shipper.. We have been in business a long time as a broker only. We were a carrier before that. We do carry 100,000.00 broker bond.
As for the guy that says something is fishy. I just don't know. We had a pleasant conversation. I told him that I didn't have anymore loads for that day and was heading out of town. I asked him what he got for that lane and he didn't want to say. I told him our rate for the lane and he said it was low... and that was that.
Thanks for all the responses.
Once again, this site has been amazing with all of the responses.
Thanks for everyones inqueries.
Have a great holiday.

If this is true.. Then you may want to think about contacting the DOT and getting their information updated.. Because right now as of when that was taken from the fmcsa website.. It shows no authority or bond as being active. You can go right to FMCSA CSA company snap shot. Put in your MC , DOT or company name.. And it will give you the latest and greatest information, and apparently update the authority and insurance information every 2 hours.

Yes, I know what he is talking about. But, we are not a carrier and according to the person I spoke with at FMCSA, to locate broker information, do not look at company snapshot, look at 'Licensing and Insurance' under company snapshot.
For anymore information, you can contact FMCSA at 1-800-832-5660 or the Arkansas field office 501-324-5050.
If you need more step by step instructions, feel free to give me a call.
Thanks

As I said before quote.. I do hope I'm wrong and if I am then call me a liar. First the DOT number that you gave is not the proper DOT number. It is 250578. I just got that from the FMCSA . Now about me calling you. I don't have your number.. But apparently you have called my company instead of ME and raised all sorts of Cain with them. If you want to complain.. You just call me. Phone is 775-240-0090. If you want to sue me then I will gladly give you my Reno attorney. Don't forget you get to come to Salt Lake City to court. .. Like I said that is the information that's on the web site. I even pasted it. If you had any class... You would have posted your authority, and brokers bond.. But noooo .

Ok.. Now that this fiasco is straightened.. From reading others postings that were showing problems, getting the wrong DOT number to a company that was desolved.. Talking straight to the horses mouth at FMCSA.. The current good DOT number is250578.. Sorrels trucking was into trucking with the apparently old DOT number.. They are now only brokering and had to obtain a new number. .. Have been around for quite a few years.. And are totally bonded.. But just as a brokerage. They as far as I have found are 100% legitamite.. Now it is up to you to use them or not.. I think I would ... We have over the years had a few shady people that either get their jollys playing games such as silence be good.. To that guy that was constantly looking for trucks to do clean up work. Then that lady in Florida.. Any. More most of our margins are so tight that if you aren't paid then it takes food off the table at home. Other than this , I don't know anything else about Sorrels trucking.. But as for authority and bonding.. They are on the straight and narrow.
